Dehesa - country resort

The Farm - Country Resort

Located northwest Extremadura almost at Portugal, in the remote Sierra de Gata, the farm and our country resort consists of almost 130 hectares of countryside to walk, enjoy “dehesa”, olive groves, meadows and oak groves with their ponds or centenary woods of sweet oaks and rockroses. Nature is everywhere to discover, wading the wild Erjas river and surroundings. Moreover, clients from our boutique hotel can enjoy unforgettable picnics by the river or amazing rides with horses or quads.

Discover ornithology and birdwatching within the farm, being an excellent unspoilt scenery for all kind of birds, especially raptors like eagles, vultures, falcons, owls as well as many small birds. Get lost down the river, have fun flyfishing wild barbels and enjoying their power. For those that love hunting, during the season there are different journeys for dove and thrush, as well as rabbit and partridge or traditional wildboar “monteria”.

Welcome to our farm, “Finca La Ramallosa”… enjoy wildlife and its countryside, travel back to the past century within the centenary hamlet refurbished as charming hotel and get closer to the stars in one of the clearest skies in Europe. Enjoy with your partner, family or friends of a rural environment, spending some days outdoors admiring nature.

Another amazing way to discover our nature and countryside is driving one of our quads. Always complying with our security measures and respecting the environment, guided excursions are organized based on the place to visit and duration required by guests.

Extremadura is considered one of the best regions in the world for Ornithology and ornithological tourism, specially in the near Monfragüe National Park (with the biggest colonies of Monk Vulture, Spanish Imperial Eagle or Black Storks) and at the Borbollon Lake (where thousands of cranes and several other species spend the winter).
